  • Pupil Parliament

East Midlands Academy Trust launched its Pupil Parliament initiative as part of its commitment to put pupils at the heart of everything they do.

All schools within the EMAT family now have at least two elected members who are attending regular sessions to debate upon meaningful and weighty matters of concern at their schools and local communities.

Following elections held in the autumn, the Castle Academy representatives on the EMAT Pupil Parliament for 2026-27 are: Olly and Alexandria

Here at Castle Academy, we have a Pupil Parliament that promotes pupil leadership opportunities, enabling children to develop valuable communication, organisation and debating skills through key roles of responsibility and new experiences. It allows pupils to be actively involved in the way that the school is run.

2 students have both been democratically elected to their positions. Each term they attend a Trust wide Pupil Parliament meeting where they discuss the work that is taking place within our school in regard to the priorities for the year.
